Adjusting stock

Last updated: October 24, 2026

What it does

Use Adjust Stock to correct an item’s quantities outside a purchase order or a sale, such as after a stocktake.

The Inventory card on an item shows its SKU and Barcode. Where the item is tracking inventory, it also lists the locations the item is stocked in, with the quantity at each.

Adjust Stock opens a window of rows, and one save can correct several locations.

ColumnWhat it takes
LocationThe location to adjust. Each option shows the quantity already there.
AdjustmentA plain number adds stock and a negative number takes it away.
ReasonCorrection, Received, Returned, Damaged, Theft or Loss, or Fulfilled

Each row shows the quantity before and after. Add Another Location adds a row.

An item with variants takes its adjustments from the variants table instead. There the window takes one location, one reason and an adjustment per variant.

Before you start

  • Lucrii shows Adjust Stock only on an item that is tracking inventory and has no variants.
  • Each row must use a different location. Lucrii does not choose one for you.

How to use it

  1. Open the item and find the Inventory card.
  2. Select Adjust Stock.
  3. Choose the location.
  4. Type the adjustment.
  5. Choose the reason.
  6. Select Save. A note recording the adjustment appears on the item’s timeline.

Troubleshooting

Adjust Stock is greyed out and says to create a location first. Your organisation has no locations yet.

A warning shows a location and the quantity it would fall to. The adjustment takes that location below zero. Lucrii saves it. The warning says the stock owed is recorded, and the valuation stays at zero until it is received.
