Creating a contact
What it does
Add a contact for each customer, vendor or person you deal with, so orders and tasks can name them. Create Contact opens a form. It starts as a person. Switch Contact Type to Organisation to add a company instead.
| Contact type | Fields |
|---|---|
| Person | First Name, Last Name |
| Organisation | Company Name, Reference |
| Both | A picture, Email, Phone, Default Currency |
- Default Currency stays as Same as organisation unless you set one.
- In the panel on the right, search for a person’s Company by name, or for an organisation’s Primary Contact among your people.
- If the contact you need is missing, select Create new organisation under Company or Create new contact under Primary Contact. A short contact form opens over the page with the name you typed filled in. Select Create to save that contact and pick it.
- Billing Address and Shipping Address follow. Tick Same as billing to use the billing address for shipping.
- A person linked to a company can tick Same as company to use that company’s billing address. Lucrii copies it when you pick the company, so changing the company’s address later does not update theirs.
Create, or Save on an edit form, stays at the top of the page as you scroll, with Cancel beside it.
- It is unavailable until you change something, and Unsaved Changes shows beside it once you do.
- If you leave the page with unsaved changes, Lucrii opens Discard Changes first. The window says “Your changes on this page will not be saved.” Keep Editing keeps you on the form, and Discard leaves without saving.
- If you reload or close the tab, your browser asks you to confirm. A link you open in a new tab never asks.
Hermes can create a contact from a sentence you type. MCP clients use the create tool.
Before you start
The free plan allows 25 contacts. You can add 2 more past that limit. Then the Create Contact button turns off, and its tooltip says to upgrade your plan to continue. A banner above the list warns you as you get close. The Early Access plan has no limit.
Each field stops at its limit as you type or paste. Lucrii refuses a longer value from Hermes, an MCP client or an import. The message gives the field and its limit, as in “Company Name must be 255 characters or fewer.”
| Contact field | What it takes |
|---|---|
| Company Name | Up to 255 characters |

| First Name | Up to 100 characters |
| Last Name | Up to 100 characters |
| Up to 254 characters | |
| Phone | Up to 32 characters with the country code |
An address takes these lengths, on a contact, a contact location, a stock location and an order.
