Connecting an MCP client

Last updated: October 24, 2026

Who can do this: administrators and owners.

What it does

Connect an MCP client, such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, to work with your Lucrii data from that app. MCP is the protocol an MCP client uses to reach your Lucrii data. The MCP page gives the one address every MCP client points at, under Connection. Below it, Connections lists the MCP clients that are connected.

Connecting is a sign-in followed by a consent screen.

  • The MCP client sends you to Lucrii, where you pick the organisation to connect.
  • The screen lists the permissions the MCP client needs, and you approve or deny. Access begins only once you approve.
  • Approving can ask you to confirm it’s you, once 10 minutes have passed since you logged in or last confirmed. Denying never asks. Two-factor authentication and passkeys describes the Confirm It’s You window.

Connections lists the whole organisation, including rows connected by other people.

ColumnWhat it shows
UserThe person who connected the MCP client
ClientThe MCP client that connected
ScopesThe permissions they granted, or None
Last usedWhen the MCP client last used the connection, or Never for one approved but not used yet
  • A connection belongs to the person who made it. When two people use the same MCP client, they get a row each.
  • Revoking an MCP client ends its access at once. It has to connect again from scratch to get access back.
  • An MCP client can also run a bulk action or start an export, through the same previews and approvals Hermes uses. Imports happen only in Lucrii.

Good to know:

  • Approve and Deny answer the request the screen shows, even after you go back or forward to another one.

Before you start

  • Administrators and owners find MCP under Organisation. It isn’t available in demo organisations.
  • Hermes and an MCP client give each date as YYYY-MM-DD. Lucrii reads it as that day in your organisation’s timezone. What Hermes can do and change states the same rule.
  • Hermes and an MCP client meet the same limits as the forms. What Hermes can do and change says how Lucrii refuses a longer value. A note on a stock adjustment from an MCP client can be up to 1,000 characters.

How to use it

  1. Open Settings, then Organisation, then MCP.
  2. Copy the address with the button beside it. The button shows Copied once the address is on your clipboard.
  3. In your MCP client, add a custom MCP server and paste the address.
  4. Sign in when the MCP client sends you to Lucrii, choose the organisation and approve the permissions.
  5. To cut an MCP client off, find its row under Connections and select Revoke. Select Revoke again to confirm.

Troubleshooting

The page says Could not copy to clipboard. Your browser blocked the copy. Select the address and copy it yourself.
